About Me
My name is Gabe Everett, and I am a sophomore Electrical Engineering Student at Lipscomb University. Driving me is a desire to best use the gifts God has given me in hopes of inspiring the world to do the same.
I plan on working in the biomedical engineering industry — more specifically prosthetics. While only having a little over a year in formal education, I do my best to spend free time learning new things and participating in various engineering projects.
Projects
I joined the Lipscomb Robotics team at the start of my freshman year. During that year, I learned not only to collaborate with teammates, but also to be reliable when it comes to completing solo tasks.
As a part of the mechanical design team, my main task was to design a component to pick up small blocks and carry them across the play field. Despite seeming like a simple task, creating a functioning clamp taught me to be conscious of my time management.

Competing in the Autonomous Robot Manipulation (ARM) Challenge was a drastic change from SoutheastCon. My role switched from part design to programming and running simulations of a robotic arm using MATLAB and Gazebo.
Having only finished freshman year, the learning curve was steep for me. I spent a lot of time studying the basics of robot kinematics and how to navigate a linux system. My task on this team was working on the obstacle avoidance system for the robotic arm to allow it to navigate the environment safely.

Not being a fan of downtime, I took the online Harvard CS50 course between graduating highschool and going to college to stay productive. At the end of the course, we were to make a website for a Final Project — I made a typing trainer.
The capstone project was more than just a test of programming knowledge. It tested my ability to finish a large project by breaking it into easy-to-manage chunks.
